Meredith McCullar began his real estate journey in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1972, he founded McCullar Realty Company, quickly becoming a major figure in commercial real estate across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Later, he relocated to Abilene, Texas, where he continued to grow his legacy through ranchland brokerage and investments.

Meredith McCullar opened Mccullar Realty in 1972 representing both buyers and sellers in commercial real-estate. Meredith specializes in leasing, management, development and brokerage of commercial property, including representing numerous national companies seeking property throughout the United States. Most of these activities are centered on retail properties with a focus on finding or creating suitable sites for large and small retail users.

In 1988, Meredith partnered with Henry Turley & Jack Belz developed the Oak Court Mall in Memphis, a 750,000 square and foot mid­city mall, anchored by Macy’s and Dillard’s (sold it to the O’Connor Group in 1989).

He and his partner introduced Harbor Town to the landscape Memphis, one of the highest profile developments in the US. of Harbor Town is an island in downtown Memphis touted as a charismatic neighborhood filled with nature trails, ponds, and walking trails that elegantly connect the town’s houses and businesses. The marina, located in Harbor Town’s backyard, has over 50 boat slips available to residents. Uniting homes and locally owned businesses, like grocery stores, restaurants, and salons is self-sustaining where leaving the island is rarely a necessity.

With over 50 years of experience in every form of real-estate transactions; the Mccullar name is synonymous with excellence, good judgment and experience; subscribing to the highest standards in the industry.

On a personal note, Meredith competed in the calf roping in the PRCA for several years and won numerous major championships in the National Cutting Horse Association.

Began investing in and brokering ranchland properties throughout West Texas, pioneering new markets.

Formation of the Double Mountain River Ranch Partnership

In the early 1980s, Meredith McCullar partnered with legendary cutting horse trainer Buster Welch to acquire the 25,000-acre Double Mountain River Ranch in West Texas. This venture marked a significant expansion into ranching and conservation efforts.

1998 – Won NCHA Amateur Super Stakes

Captured the title riding Quixote Lena Peppy, a career-defining achievement in cutting horse competition.

2007 – Major NCHA Finals with "Shesa Little Cat"

Finalist in 11 major National Cutting Horse Association events, showcasing Meredith’s enduring excellence.

2022: Creation of the Buster and Sheila Welch Scholarship Endowment

In honor of his longtime friend and partner, Meredith co-established the Texas Tech University “Buster and Sheila Welch Excellence in Conservation of Natural Resources Scholarship Endowment” in 2022. This scholarship aims to support students dedicated to sustainable ranching and conservation practices.
